About Us

In architecture, the keystone of an arch is a wedge-shaped block that locks all others into position, supporting the structure. When it comes to bicycles, one could think of the frameset or chassis as the keystone of their two-wheeled machine. Based in Harrisonburg, Virginia and named after our home state of Pennsylvania; Keystone Cycle Fabrications specializes in high-end suspension services, and also produces small-batch custom steel bicycle frames.

With a lifetime of passion for two wheels and over 15 years of experience in bicycle shop service departments, we've learned a thing or two about the unique demands of riding in the Appalachian mountains. Before starting the company, Madison Matthews graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology with an associate's degree in Welding Technology and worked as a structural welder in Virginia before leaving the construction industry to manage a local bike shop's service department. Under the name Keystone Frameworks, we began welding custom bicycle frames as a way to keep skills sharp and to provide a unique experience for our local customers. While working in bicycle shops, suspension service has always been Madison's forte. We are able to perform factory level rebuilds on the majority of different suspension products from Fox, Rockshox, DVO and Cane Creek, as well as being certified by Ohlins to service their products.
